Description

Examines the history, current issues and challenges of the animal welfare movement, and the role of the veterinarian in addressing animal welfare issues. Major topics include domestic and foreign policy, veterinary position statements, auditing, research and assessment of animal welfare for animals used for food, companionship, research, sport and wildlife.

Restriction(s)

Successful completion of Year 2 of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program.
