Description

Training and Development has traditionally been part of the human resource management field, which concerns itself with equipping people with skills and knowledge to perform current functions. It is also part of the professional field of adult education, the central focus of which is the performance of persons in organizational systems. This course will focus on aspects of employer-sponsored learning: competencies, skills and methods used by T&D professionals, and the processes of training: needs analysis and evaluation. The course addresses organizational concerns such as performance improvements, transfer of training, organizational development and organizing the training function. Current practices and trends are also discussed.
