This course will provide a framework for exploring lifelong adult learning within formal and informal contexts that involve Indigenous learners such as post-secondary, vocational, community and activist educational processes. The course will investigate the history and current applicability of adult and popular methods within decolonizing and equity discourses and concurrently critically examine adult learning as historically and culturally located. Following a critical investigtion of adult learning, the course draws upon Indigenous theory as an epistemic grounding of a relationally imbued instructional approach. Students will be asked to consider Indigenous instructional strategies as circle work, teacher as facilitator strategies and situate learning within one?s own story.
